Paper Trails

Founded in 2020 to provide walking and mountain bike trail auditing and asset management solutions in Aotearoa. We believe that trail grading consistency will lead to a safer and more enjoyable visitor experience.

Paper Trails works with land managers to audit trails as well as develop asset management systems that are sustainable, easy to use, and reliable.

We’re proud to work with the NZ Mountain bike trail design and construction guidelines to maintain consistency.

Ashley Peters

Since arriving in NZ in 2005, Ashley Peters has set up multiple bike organisations in New Zealand, largely focused on helping others enjoy mountain biking just as much as she does. As the founder and CEO of WORD (World Off-road Riding Department), Ash has created a huge community of riders through this youth mountain bike charity. She has also been instrumental in establishing the NZ MTB Instructor Qualifications with NZOIA and Skills Active.

Through her company Joyride, Ash instructs mountain bike skills courses and camps as well as helping mountain bike organisations around Aotearoa developing their safety management systems and running instructor training.
