Queenstown Bike Park, NZ

June 2021-Ongoing
The Home of Adventure’, Queenstown is home to 130km of incredible trails including the Queenstown Bike Park. 450m of vertical descent, incredible vistas and 30 trails of varied terrain to cater for all riding abilities.

Starting with an audit focusing on trail grading, GPS recording and condition assessments of all trail and assets in the network in 2021. Currently, Paper Trails manages the Queenstown Bike Park on behalf of Queenstown Lakes District Council working closely with the Queenstown Mountain Bike Club and Skyline Queenstown.


Whakarewarewa, Rotorua

October 2022 - ongoing
The Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua is home to over 150km of amazing purpose built mountain bike and multi use trails.

The Rotorua Lakes Council contracted Paper Trails NZ to deliver ongoing management support with the Rotorua Trails Trust. Trail auditing was also completed on a handful of specific trails including a post accident site in the Whakarewarewa Forest.


Makara, Wellington

February 2023
Makara Peak MTB Park in Wellington is set in 250 hectares of regenerating native bush.

With over 40 kilometres of world class single track, a 72 metre long suspension bridge, and panoramic views across Wellington Harbour, Cook Strait and the upper South Island, Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park has something for riders of all ages and abilities.

The Wellington City Council contracted Paper Trails NZ to audit a handful of specific trails.

Wairoa Gorge, Nelson NZ

January 2021 - Situated deep in the Wairoa Valley, Wairoa Gorge is home to well over 70km of hand-built mountain bike trails that run through a lush native and beech forest environment. In 2016 the land was gifted to NZ the via the Department of Conservation with Nelson Mountain Bike Club securing a 40 year lease to the trails and lodges.

Paper Trails completed a trail audit of the park on behalf of the Nelson Mountain Bike Club. This audit focused on the grading of the trails using the Recreation Aotearoa guidelines.
